Description of the second year summer program |
Our summer students have the opportunity to work during the summer of their second year of law school, in addition to the summer before they start l'École du Barreau if they wish to do so.
During your first summer, you take part in a welcoming and onboarding program designed to provide you with practical knowledge and skills that help you learn the profession and become part of the firm. The welcoming and onboarding program lasts two weeks. Summer students are also invited to participate in many social activities that take place during the summer. Working as a law student allows for in-depth learning and increased responsibility based on your strengths and interests. Description of articling program |
To facilitate their integration and development, articling students are paired with an articling supervisor and monitored by a member of our professional development team.
The articling student is quickly involved in the files through directly assigned mandates. He or she assists the more senior professionals at every stage of the file. This may include legal research, due diligence, drafting reports, court proceedings, various contractual documents, memos and analysis. He or she may also be called upon to present motions to the court, and to draft research notes and argument plans. The articling student also attends client meetings and internal team meetings. The workload varies from week to week. On average, a student invests 35 to 50 hours and an intern 40 to 60 hours per week at BCF. |
